Jackson Hole Web Site Design

Why You Need a Web Site

Not so long ago there was no such thing as a web site. Now, in less than 10 years, it has gotten to the point that every business needs a web presence. Period. If what you do is legal, you need to be on the web.

A large and increasing percentage of consumers are turning to the web to get the information they need and can’t find anywhere else. Information that was unattainable before the web is now expected, even demanded, by consumers.

The web, as it evolves, is finding new ways for businesses to communicate - with established customers, other businesses and potential customers alike. The current reality is that your business needs to take advantage of an advertising/communication medium that simply did not exist a few short years ago.

We often hear comments like, "I own a restaurant, why do I need a web site?" The answer, which applies to virtually every type of business imaginable, is that a large and ever growing percentage of the population is using the web to do basic research before spending their hard earned dollars.

You, personally, may not. But a lot of people are.

If you are not on the web, you are losing business to those that are. End of story.

Use the Web to Tell Your Story

Your web site gives you the freedom to tell your story in as much (or little) detail as you choose. Where a newspaper ad is a sound bite, a web site can be feature story…or even a full length movie!

This web site is a good example. If you just want to know the pricing structure for the web sites we build, that information is on the site. But if you are looking for more, if you are looking for that extra little something that convinces you to take the plunge and join the web world, we have that too. And the fact that you have read this far is evidence that it may be working.

Get the jump on your competition and learn how the web can benefit your business now. Doing so will leave you much better positioned to take advantage of the possibilities that will present themselves in the future, especially since you won't be forced to play catch-up. Ignore what the web can do for you at your own risk.

The Web & Destination Travel

The web has become increasingly important for travel destinations, like Jackson Hole. We never used to look up the restaurants in the towns we were traveling to ahead of time, but we do now. Nor the stores and shops, or recreational opportunities. Or lodging. But we do now.

We used to get our travel information from full-color brochures provided by our travel agent or somebody's chamber of commerce. Now we get it from the web. We used to wonder what would be going on when we got to our destination. Now we know ahead of time. We used to wonder what the weather forecast for our vacation was going to be. Now...well, you get the picture.

Ecommerce Sites

If you own a retail business you'll want to read our thoughts on why an ecommerce site may be in your future.

This is as good a time as any to mention that we do not advocate dropping all other forms of advertising and going solely with the web (usually). What we do advocate is using the web as an adjunct to your other forms of advertising. We believe devoting more of your advertising resources to the web is a very cost effective way to tell your story to the public.

Non-business Sites

You don’t need to run a business to benefit from the web. Click here to see who else can benefit.

A Final Thought

One Final Thought: In 10 years, articles like this one will be completely unnecessary.
